Traveling miles away from what I call home into the world of 'Ringling College of Art and Design’ has been a remarkable ongoing journey. The journey began when I left Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania (East Africa), and entered the world of Ringling with my one and only desire: to make a career in the field of creative arts. The decision was not easy and it was a vast transition indeed as I was the first one to step out of the bubble of a business-oriented family into a wide-open world of creative flare.

I aim to be a responsible Interior Designer who will leave a positive impact on the lives of people and the environment with and through my designs. For me, it has always been a combination of thinking around, outside, and ‘inside the box’ rather than just ‘outside’ as I continuously strive to produce something that has never  been conceived before. There is a common misconception that Interior Design is about fluffing pillows or moving furniture around; but I have rather learnt that it is about our clients, their health, safety, and wellness, which is why it is not an easy job and becomes rather scary. My stomach is constantly in jitters when I contemplate how a single mistake made on my part can result in someone’s death. Although, I have been able to move past those most dreaded and fatal outcomes so that my informed choices can create a positive impact in one’s life.  Seeing the ‘bigger picture’ is what has driven me forward, and made me realize that I would like to become an interior designer who makes a difference and brings a definite change in today’s world.
